Literally the only photos I took from the Cape this weekend: this is a tiny plane and mini-golf appreciation blog.
This is amazing! Thank you we-r-not-tour-guides! Come back and visit us soon. And for some other all-important office highlights: *iced coffee on tap (my personal fave) *company soul cycle and yoga classes *the best coworkers you could ask for (a few of them featured here) Now, if only my hair looked as good as this illustrated version every day. :)

Wish I was back in Hawaii
On Friday August 22, 2014 the Explainer Blog Team took a trip to Tumblr Headquarters! Having never gone before, we were all super excited to meet the staff and get some insight.
We met Katherine Barna, Betsy Cannon, Sarah Henochowicz and Janice Chang. These women told us about their backgrounds and how they attained jobs at Tumblr. It was super inspirational to hear their stories!
As a team we had many questions about how to create a more beneficial blog for our readers and we got a lot of advice that we are excited to use. Our tumblr experience was topped off with goodies and a tour of the Headquarters!
We look forward to planning a better experience for our readers and if you have any suggestions, please feel free to message us!
This was such an awesome group to get to know and host at tumblr HQ. Watch out for big things from them!
There are those that participate in the company flip club tournament and those that organize the gambling ring.
heaven is apparently a doggie pool party.
This is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. Admittedly I don’t get out much.
No, its true. It’s the funniest.
Please please let Billy stop me outside Tumblr HQ one day.
Hello New York.
Just a short jump from NYC is City Island in the Bronx. Check out this Gothamist article, which gives a pretty good overview. The island is only 1.5 miles long, so you can easily walk it. Water access is difficult, but we went to the Harlem Yacht Club (don’t have to be a member) and sat on the deck overlooking the harbor and had a cocktail. We also had a drink in The Snug on City Island Avenue (surprisingly good Bloody Mary) and chatted with a local man (a true clam digger) who gave us a little townie flavor.
There are also a few quirky antique and curiosity shops that are worth a visit. Explore it for yourself. It’s a great NY adventure.
highly recommend. what a strange, strange place.
